The millionth Alga card was issued today in Bashkiria. As Radiy Khabirov said, the project was launched in 2019 and proved to be in demand among residents of the republic. The unified transport card can be used to pay for travel on buses, trolleybuses, trams, and river transport in the cities and districts of the region.
"In the six years that have passed since the introduction of the Alga card, it has become a truly convenient and effective tool. Travel for passengers on it is cheaper than cash. There are benefits for children of SMO participants, children from large families, and those left without parental care, as well as a Unified Social Travel Ticket for pensioners and corporate transport cards. For those who travel with transfers, we launched the "Happy Hour" campaign - within one hour, you can use different types of transport, paying for travel only once. It was with the "Alga" card that our work on building an intelligent transport system in Bashkiria began, which we are systematically continuing," said Radiy Khabirov.
The head of the republic also spoke about further plans for the development of transport infrastructure in the region.
"There are many plans ahead - integration of additional types of transport and services into the project, development of a mobile application, new benefits and tariffs, introduction and expansion of contactless payment methods. And of course, we will expand the card to other regions. Now it can be used in the Orenburg region," Khabirov summed up.
