Bashkiria Rospotrebnadzor Reports on Air and Water Quality in Sterlitamak
The situation in the city remains under control following the August 9 incident at the Kaustik plant.
Anna Kazak, head of the Rospotrebnadzor office for Bashkortostan, took part in an emergency commission meeting held on the plant's premises under the chairmanship of the Republic of Bashkortostan's Prime Minister Andrey Nazarov.
According to the agency, as part of measures to protect the city's residents and plant personnel from potential negative consequences of the accident, an inspection is being conducted at the BSK plant. Monitoring of atmospheric air and drinking water quality, including laboratory testing of samples, is ongoing.
