Monument to General Margelov opened in Bashkiria on Airborne Forces Day
A memorial to the Hero of the Soviet Union, who led the Airborne Forces, was placed in the Belokataysky District
On August 2, on Airborne Forces Day, a monument to Vasily Margelov opened in the Belokataysky District, the municipal administration reported.
The memory of the legendary military leader, army general, Hero of the Soviet Union, who led the airborne troops and turned them into the elite of the USSR armed forces, was immortalized in the village of Urgala.
In the districts and cities of Bashkiria, solemn events are being held dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Airborne Forces Day.
