Foresters Issue Wildfire Forecast for Bashkortostan
With the onset of hot weather, there is a possibility of moderate-level wildfires.
As of July 9, satellite imagery showed 284 thermal anomalies in the forests of Bashkortostan. Today, forest fires of classes 1 to 3 are forecasted, ranging from weak to moderate. No forest fires were recorded on Tuesday, July 8.
Thanks to heavy rains, only 10 forest fires have occurred in the region since April 3, resulting in the damage of 26.6 hectares of forest. Six of these fires were caused by careless handling of fire by people.
Currently, access to forests for tourists and hunters is restricted in the Abzelilovsky, Baymaksky, and Burzyansky forest districts from July 7 to 27 due to the forecasted dry weather.
