Scientists from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics have recorded a series of giant plasma clump ejections (prominences) on the Sun.
The latest prominence ejection on the right edge of the Sun was observed today between 9:00 and 14:00 Moscow time. A total of six such ejections have been reported over the past week.
The prominence ejected by the Sun today measures over one million kilometers in size. It was directed toward the north pole of the Solar System. It is noted that none of the fiery objects have impacted Earth so far.
