Radiy Khabirov pledges personal support to young scientists who choose to stay in Bashkortostan

Bashkortostan has never before hosted such a large gathering of talented young scientists, and for the region, this is a great honor. The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov stated this during his welcome speech at the plenary session of the XIII All-Russian Congress of Councils of Young Scientists and Student Scientific Societies. The forum is taking place at the Toratau Congress Hall in Ufa.

Khabirov thanked the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation for deciding to hold the forum in Ufa.

"The young scientific community of Bashkortostan is actively developing and embracing new achievements. I am pleased to see so many talented young people gathered here. If someone decides to stay in Bashkortostan after spending three or four days here, I will personally outline a growth and success path for them, and we will provide support," said the Head of the Republic.

Bashkortostan has been among the top ten regions in the National Ranking of Scientific and Technological Development for the third year in a row. The republic is home to over 4,500 researchers, with every fifth being a young scientist under the age of 29.

In the past four years, around 900 million rubles have been allocated from the regional budget to support science. Sixty projects by young PhD candidates and graduate students received 90 million rubles, while 11 priority research projects under the Eurasian REC were supported with 80 million rubles for three years. Four world-class laboratories have also been established, with a total funding of 300 million rubles.

Additionally, 400 million rubles were allocated over a two-year period to support 531 research internships and improve housing conditions for 133 young scientists.
