Today, June 18, difficulties with accessing mobile Internet were reported in several regions of Russia. Failures were noted in the Moscow, Leningrad, Pskov, Voronezh, Rostov, Volgograd, Tyumen, Samara, Tambov, Chelyabinsk, and Magadan regions, as well as Tyva, Yakutia, Transbaikalia, Primorye, and Khabarovsk Krai.
As federal media reports, the restrictions are related to the growing threats from drones. It is believed that disabling mobile Internet interferes with the coordination and navigation of drones, and also reduces the accuracy of their strikes. There is a possibility that the measure will be expanded territorially.
As military experts explain, blocking the Internet disrupts the operation of UAV navigation systems and deprives them of the ability to deliver precision strikes.
