Vladimir Putin opened surgical building of cardiology center in Ufa

On June 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin inaugurated new healthcare facilities in the country via a video conference. Among them is the new surgical building of the Republican Cardiology Center in Ufa. Construction of the multi-story building, with a total area of ​​approximately 32,000 square meters, commenced in July 2019. It houses an admissions department with diagnostic rooms, an outpatient clinic, 10 operating units with intensive care, X-ray and cardiac surgery departments, a sterilization complex, an administrative block, and a pharmacy distribution point. The cost of the facility was 10.7 billion rubles, with the funds allocated from Bashkortostan's budget.

The Russian President asked all regional leaders to pay special attention to the Feldsher-Obstetric Station (FOS).

"Of course, the ten-story surgical building of the Republican Cardiology Center, where such complex operations on blood vessels and the heart are performed, is an essential thing from the point of view of the development of medicine both in the republic and in the country as a whole. But please do not forget about the FOSs, this concerns millions of our citizens living in small towns, where sometimes, apart from paramedics, there is no medical worker. Therefore, we need to continue work on repairs, on the construction of new FOSs, on attracting specialists there, creating appropriate conditions for them, primarily housing, you also know this well," said Vladimir Putin.

Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov noted that the new building of the cardiology center marks the completion of a closed cycle in the comprehensive system for combating cardiovascular diseases. This is our cardiology center, regional vascular centers, rural medical outpatient clinics, and FOSs.

"We have one of the largest numbers of FOSs in the republic, more than two thousand. Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, we have replaced 500 of them over the past six years; these are new FOSs. All of them are included in a single digital circuit. This means that we can now take an electrocardiogram from the most remote settlement with a FOS and immediately send it to the regional vascular center. We can quickly intervene in this story.

Dear Mr. President, you know, the building is large, spanning 35,000 square meters, with 10 operating rooms. For people, this is additional hope for a long, healthy life. “The latest equipment today allows us to make a breakthrough in the development of cardiac surgery and rise to a completely new level. Today, we can perform hybrid operations and introduce new methods of hybrid operations. On the first floor, we have a new, comfortable clinic for our patients, as well as a wonderful admission and diagnostic department. Such communication allows us to shorten the patient's path from the initial examination to his hospitalization in the ward,” said Irina Nikolaeva, chief physician of the Republican Cardiology Center.
