Russians will be additionally protected from collectors’ tyranny

The Bailiff Service, the Credit History Bureau, and mobile operators will collaborate to process applications from citizens whose rights have been violated by collectors as quickly as possible. The State Duma adopted the relevant amendments in the second and third readings.

As the authors of the bill explained, “there are frequent cases when collectors call debtors more often than allowed by law. They call after hours, at night, and also to the debtors’ relatives, work colleagues, threaten, exert psychological pressure, and disclose confidential information from the credit history.” And approximately 90% of all violations are related to the use of mobile communications.
