Volga Federal District turned 25

A quarter of a century ago, on May 13, 2000, by decree of the President of Russia, federal districts were formed in the country, including the Volga Federal District. At that time, the Institute of Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Head of State in the Federal District was also created, which is engaged in monitoring the implementation of federal laws, coordinating all levels of government, and monitoring and analyzing the situation.

Let us recall that the Volga Federal District includes 14 subjects of the Russian Federation, including Bashkiria.

The Volga Federal District concentrates unique scientific, educational, and industrial competencies on a Russian scale, and implements large educational and socially significant projects. Each region of the Volga Federal District has something to be proud of. Today, the Volga Region is a territory of dynamic growth with a rich history, multinational culture, and, most importantly, people who work for its benefit," commented Igor Komarov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Volga Federal District.
