

Khazhi Gafarov, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War from Sterlitamak, is over 100 years old. The city administration told about the front-line soldier.
Khazhi Gafarov was born on September 15, 1924, in the village of Kutluguzha, Gafuriysky District. He was called up to the front on August 20, 1942.
Khazhi Gafarov graduated from the Ufa Infantry School and was sent to the 47th Rifle Regiment in March 1943.
During the Battle of Kursk, Khazhi Gafarov was wounded. On July 11, 1943, he received a severe leg wound and was treated until December 1943 in an evacuation hospital. After treatment, he was sent to a military road detachment as a road worker. In December 1945, after demobilization and until retirement, he worked in his native village as the village council chairman. Then, he worked as an excavator operator in Krasnousolsky's quarry. Having moved to Sterlitamak, he worked as an excavator driver.
"We congratulate Khazhi Gafarov on Victory Day! We wish him good health, good spirits, and prosperity! Thank you for the peaceful sky above our heads!" - the municipality said in a statement.
