Bashkiria hit top 15 Russian regions with highest salaries for shift workers

Tatyana Aksyutina

Bashkiria entered the top 15 regions of Russia with the highest salaries for shift workers. This was reported by analysts of the online platform hh.ru.

According to the results for the first three months of 2025, the Far Eastern territories had the highest number of workers with shift work. In Zabaikalsky Krai and Magadan Oblast, a third of all open vacancies are for shift workers (33% each). In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, and Amur Oblast, the figure is 26% each.

Next in the top 20 Russian regions with the largest share of shift work are the Republic of Buryatia and the Jewish Autonomous Oblast (both at 25%), Yakutia and Irkutsk Oblast (both at 24%), Krasnoyarsk Krai (21%), and the Republic of Bashkortostan (20%).

Most often, companies are looking for drivers (14% of all shift vacancies), machinists (10%), general workers (8%), mechanics, plumbers (5%), turners, milling machine operators, grinders, welders and electricians (4% each) to work outside their home region.

However, shift work has become prevalent in almost all professions, and now individual shift vacancies are opening up even for specialists like event managers, appraisers, real estate agents, videographers, video editors, and promoters.

In the Republic of Bashkortostan, 11% of applicants are not against working shifts. In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Zabaykalsky Krai, the percentage is 10% each. In the Astrakhan, Sakhalin, Orenburg, and Magadan Regions, as well as in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, it is 8% each. Applicants from the Moscow Region showed the lowest interest in shift work — only 1% were willing to take on such employment.

The median offered salary for shift work vacancies in Russia as a whole in the first quarter of 2025 was 154,500 rubles. This is twice the average level of offers on the labor market (74.0 thousand rubles).

The highest salaries are ready to be paid to shift workers by employers in the Magadan Region (188.0 thousand rubles, on average), Yakutia (181.3 thousand rubles), Novosibirsk Region (174.9 thousand rubles), Krasnoyarsk Krai (171.4 thousand rubles), and Primorsky Krai (170.1 thousand rubles).

Bashkortostan was in 11th place — here shift workers are offered 164.7 thousand rubles.
