President of Russia congratulated Christians on Easter

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Christians and all citizens of the country celebrating Easter – the Bright Resurrection of Christ.

“The great holiday of Easter gives us love and hope, faith in goodness and justice, and unites us around enduring spiritual and moral ideals. During the Easter celebrations, I would like to note with deep satisfaction that today, as always, the Russian Orthodox Church and other Christian denominations play a major and inspiring role in strengthening social harmony and mutual understanding among people, educating the younger generation, and promoting family values. And of course, the efforts of religious organizations aimed at supporting the defenders of the Fatherland and their loved ones, implementing popular patriotic, charitable, and educational initiatives, deserve the most sincere recognition,” the congratulations read.

The head of state, along with Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, attended the Easter night service at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The service was conducted by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
