

The Bank of Russia has announced the release of a commemorative coin in the "Heroes of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" series. It is dedicated to Marshal Leonid Govorov.
"He led the 5th Army of the Western Front, which took on the entire burden of defensive battles on the approaches to Moscow in the Mozhaisk direction. During the siege of Leningrad, the defense of the city was carried out under his command, and operations were planned that led to the breakthrough of the siege and the complete liberation of the city," the regulator's press service said.
The 2-ruble coin is made of 925 silver, weighing 15.55 g, and has a diameter of 33 mm. It is made in proof quality and has a mintage of 3,000 pieces.
