Government scholarships for best students will be assigned in new way
Government scholarships for the best students will be assigned differently. Mikhail Mishustin, the head of the Russian government, signed the decree approving the new rules for the appointment and payment of government scholarships.
According to the innovations, third- and subsequent-year undergraduate and specialist students, as well as master's students, can apply for a government scholarship.
At the same time, applicants should not have academic debt or satisfactory grades, and the number of "excellent" grades should be at least 50%. Winning international or all-Russian student competitions and olympiads, experience in scientific research, and publications in reputable scientific journals are also welcome.
The decision to assign a scholarship is made based on the results of the competition committee.
From September 1, 2025, the monthly government scholarship for university students will increase to 20,000 rubles. The scholarship will be assigned for one year.
