The presentation of certificates and badges of Honorary Citizens of the City of Ufa to veterans of the Great Patriotic War has ended. City Council deputies, together with representatives of district administrations, presented veterans with well-deserved awards at home for a month.
On February 27, at the 48th meeting of the City Council, forty-three participants of the Great Patriotic War were awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City." Due to their advanced age and health, only six front-line soldiers could attend the award ceremony.
All other veterans were given diplomas, badges, and certificates at their homes on the instructions of the head of the city district and chairman of the City Council of Ufa Marat Vasimov.
The biographies of Ufa front-line soldiers are on the City Council's official website, in the "Honorary Citizens of the City of Ufa" section.
It should be noted that the Russian Ministry of Defense initiated the initiative to grant all front-line soldiers who participated in the Great Patriotic War the title of "Honorary Citizen" of their cities and towns. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the proposal at a "Victory" organizing committee meeting on January 15, 2025.
