Parent Council regulation approved in Bashkiria

Bashkiria approved the regulation on the Parent Council. The corresponding order of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Bashkiria, dated January 14, 2025, was published on the official legal information portal.

The Republican Parent Council on issues of teaching state languages ​​and native languages ​​of the peoples of the Republic of Bashkiria is a permanent, collegial, voluntary, independent, coordinating, and advisory body under the Ministry of Education and Science of Bashkiria. It is guided by the principles of voluntariness, equality of all its members, self-government, legality, and transparency in its activities.

The Republican Parent Council was created to coordinate the activities of parental self-government bodies in ensuring the rights and responsibilities of parents, students, and pupils, strengthening their interaction with governing bodies in the field of education and educational organizations in teaching the state languages ​​of the Republic of Bashkiria and native languages ​​of the peoples of the Republic of Bashkiria. The tasks of the Republican Parent Council are: organization and coordination of the activities of the parent community aimed at creating effective conditions for the development of the education system of the Republic of Belarus for obtaining education in the state language of the Russian Federation, as well as the choice of the language of instruction and upbringing within the possibilities provided by the education system.

The Republican Parent Council consists of at least 5 people. Elections to the Republican Parent Council are held once a year before the start of the school year. The Parent Council carries out its activities free of charge. The decisions of the Council are advisory.
