The first blooming of coltsfoot was spotted in the Shulgan-Tash reserve, and the first creatures to come to life after winter were a tortoiseshell butterfly and an earthworm. Swans have arrived in the reserve's Trans-Ural territory, and anthills are also waking up.
“The ants, feeling the temperature rise, rise to the top of the anthill to warm themselves in the sun. Having received the warmth, they transfer it to the nest. Thanks to thousands of warmed individuals, the temperature in the anthill rises, and the nest comes to life,” said inspector Sabit Galin.
Scientists are creating a virtual copy of the Shulgan-Tash cave, one of the region's main attractions.
