Bashkiria residents will see rare event in sky

Residents of Bashkiria will see a rare event in the sky from March 18 to 21, when Venus will be both the "Morning" and "Evening" star. As explained in the Ufa city planetarium, this is called the double visibility of Venus, the next time something like this will happen in 2033.

Venus is called the "Morning Star" or "Evening Star" depending on when it is visible in the sky: in the morning or the evening. But in March, before the inferior conjunction with the Sun (March 23), Venus will be visible in the morning and evening sky for several days: from March 18 to 21. But the conditions of its visibility on these days leave much to be desired: it will be visible very low above the horizon against the background of the morning or evening dawn, and it will not be easy to find. On March 23 at 06.06 Ufa time, Venus will enter an inferior conjunction with the Sun. During this conjunction, Venus will be located on the same line as the Earth and the Sun, to be between the Earth and the Sun. For observers from Earth, Venus will be in front of the Sun. After the inferior conjunction with the Sun, Venus will be visible in the mornings, becoming the "Morning Star". However, its proximity to the Sun will be poorly visible for several more days. At the end of March, its visibility will improve slightly: it will rise an hour before the Sun and be visible in the east against the background of the morning dawn at the very horizon in the constellation Pisces.

Venus's morning visibility will continue until January 6, 2026 - until the superior conjunction with the Sun.
