Saturn's rings will disappear in 2025. This optical effect will occur because, on March 23, the distant planet will take a sideways position relative to Earth. The rings will become virtually invisible due to their minimal thickness—only a few dozen meters. Earthlings will see Saturn from the side, and its rings will look like a thin line or disappear completely when observed through telescopes, explains Iflscience.com.
The rings temporarily disappear every 13.7-15.7 years. In addition, scientists warn that Saturn's rings are gradually being destroyed: Ice, dust, and rocks that make up the rings fall to the planet under the influence of gravity. Presumably, the rings will completely disappear in about 300 million years.
