January became third warmest in Volga Federal District
Meteovesti reports that January 2025 in Russia became the fourth warmest and the third warmest in the Volga Federal District.
In the center of European Russia and the country's European territory, January 2025 became the warmest in the history of regular meteorological observations since 1891.
According to the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, the average monthly air temperature in the Arctic in January 2025 was about 1.5° above normal. Then, the minimum area of the ice shell for this month in the entire history of observations was recorded.
