Birds were counted in Bashkiria
A census of wintering waterfowl was conducted in the Bashkiria National Park in open areas of water bodies. The birds were counted on the Belaya and Nugush Rivers, where water is discharged below the dams of the Nugush and Yumaguzinsky reservoirs. This year, the Irgizla River in the Burzyansky District was not covered with ice either. There, 27 mallards and three dippers were found.
In total, 22 large mergansers, 167 mallards, 110 goldeneyes, seven white-tailed eagles, 14 diapers, and one mute swan were counted, the Bashkiria National Park reported.
