Ufa International Airport has won the national award "Air Gate of Russia" in the nomination "Best airport with passenger traffic from 2 to 6 million people per year". The general director of the air hub, Alexander Andreev, received the award in Moscow. The award is considered one of the most authoritative industry awards in the country.
According to the press service of the air hub, in 2024, the Ufa airport served 4.8 million passengers and almost 19 thousand flights to 70 destinations. The air hub continues to modernize its infrastructure to improve passenger services actively. Thus, for the 450th anniversary of Ufa, a technological structure was built that unites the entrance groups of the domestic and international terminals into a single architectural form, the areas of entry control, check-in, and pre-flight inspection were reconstructed, and the baggage handling and departure waiting areas of the domestic terminal were expanded. Thus, the total area of the airport complex is now 55,000 square meters, and the throughput capacity has exceeded 2,300 people per hour. The changes also affected the landside area: after the expansion of entrances and parking areas, compared to 2019, it has increased by 2.5 times.
The airport infrastructure will be further developed. For example, in the near future, they plan to combine the terminals of domestic and international airlines with a seamless passage and expand the passenger service areas. In 2025, a modern hotel complex should be commissioned.
The Air Gate of Russia Award was established in 2015 by the organizing committee of the national civil aviation infrastructure exhibition NAIS, the Federal Air Transport Agency, and the industry portal AVIARU.NET. The expert council includes representatives of Russian aviation authorities, airlines, aviation business enterprises, industry associations, and the professional expert community.
