Scientists have proposed intelligent genomics laboratory created in Ufa

Oleg Gusev, head of the mega-laboratory of genomic and post-genomic technologies in animal husbandry at the Institute of Biochemistry and Genetics of the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, spoke about the use of genetic technologies in animal husbandry at the "Hour of Science" held by the Head of Bashkortostan.

The laboratory's specialists have identified key genetic markers affecting farm animals' productivity and proposed digital solutions to optimize the work of companies producing meat products.

"We propose creating an intelligent genomics laboratory based on the future Genome Center in Ufa, where big data analysis will combine artificial intelligence and bioinformatics," Oleg Gusev noted.

The Head of Bashkortostan proposed considering the scientists' initiative in detail.

"We will discuss how to do everything correctly. Let's meet and work everything out in detail," said Radiy Khabirov.
