Three Finist electric trains will arrive in Bashkiria in 2025. The head of the Republic of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, announced this on social media, emphasizing that the republic became one of Russia's first subjects to receive electric trains.
“In total, over the past five years, we have received 88 new cars - since 2021, the rolling stock of commuter trains has been updated by 70%, and its average age has decreased from 16 to 6 years. This is an impressive result, especially considering that such work was not carried out for 10 years before this time. The new trains have made commuter transportation more attractive to our residents. In 2024, 2.8 million people used commuter trains within the Ufa agglomeration alone - 700 thousand more than in 2023. In total, they transported 5.4 million people. The increase by 2023 is plus 1 million people,” noted Radiy Khabirov.
The Head of Bashkiria also shared plans to develop the railway industry further. He says improving railway stations on the “city electric train” route will continue.
In addition, the authorities plan to extend the routes from Ufa to Samara and Magnitogorsk and increase the number of trips to Orenburg.
“We will work to turn Ufa into the largest transport hub in the Volga Federal District. We will also develop the “Ufa electric train.” We will extend the route to Chishmy station, and in the future, by 2030, we will organize traffic along the Southern Bypass to Zubovo and Chesnokovka. I thank Russian Railways for their effective cooperation. “Development of railway transportation, ensuring the comfort of our residents is a priority for us,” shared Radiy Khabirov.
