The bill, designed to protect people from being imposed with additional paid goods and services, was adopted by the State Duma in the first reading.
By the amendments planned to Article 16 of the Federal Law "On the Protection of Consumer Rights," the sale of additional goods, services, and works for a separate fee will be carried out only with the consumer's consent, and their imposition before the conclusion of an agreement on the purchase of the primary goods will be prohibited.
It is also proposed that automatic marks be excluded from the consent to purchase additional goods, works, and services and that citizens be granted the right to refuse to pay for imposed goods, works, and services. If funds have been written off, it will be possible to demand their return.
