Russia records increase in seasonal viral infections
Russia records an increase in seasonal viral infections. According to Rospotrebnadzor, the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections in the country increased by 12.9% over the previous week. In this regard, 48 schools and 23 preschool institutions in 11 country regions were closed.
In Bashkiria, 18 thousand cases of acute respiratory infections were registered over the previous week, of which the % of the child population is 46%. According to the regional sanitary department, the increase in incidence over the week was 72.6%.
“The incidence figures are comparable to the figures in mid-December. Annual observations of the incidence dynamics show that the figures decrease during the pre-holiday week and the New Year holidays. The incidence is mainly due to adenoviruses, bocaviruses, rhinoviruses, and coronaviruses. At the same time, the activity of influenza viruses is increasing,” the message from Rospotrebnadzor for the Republic of Bashkortostan says.
