The song "Katyusha" became one of the symbols of Victory during the Great Patriotic War, recalls the project "80th Anniversary of Victory". Thousands of defenders of the Motherland still march to this marching song, and conscripts practice their steps on the parade ground.
Poet Mikhail Isakovsky wrote the lyrics to the song in 1938, and composer Matvey Blanter composed the music.
The song became so popular that it spread throughout the world. In the mouths of millions, "Katyusha" sounded not as a song about the sadness of separation and parting but as a song about duty, loyalty, and love for the Motherland.
