

The Russian government has expanded the list of essential drugs and medicines to treat high-cost diseases by adding 18 more items.
The updated list includes drugs for treating patients with various oncological, chronic, autoimmune, cardiovascular, and infectious diseases.
The drugs are used to treat lymphoma, melanoma, leukemia, breast cancer, diabetes, systemic lupus erythematosus, anemia in chronic kidney disease, tachycardia, lipid metabolism disorders, pneumonia, peritonitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, severe bronchial asthma, as well as to prevent thrombotic complications during antiretroviral therapy.
Additional dosage forms have been added for four drugs.
In addition, the list of drugs for treating patients with complex and rare diseases within the program of 14 high-cost nosologies includes the antitumor drug isatuximab, used in the treatment of multiple myeloma.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin emphasized that half of the drugs are produced in Russia.
