Social Fund explained new scheme for single benefit calculating

To assign a single benefit, the income of each non-disabled family member (from 18 years old) must be at least four minimum wages for the year. Starting in the new year, the minimum salary in Russia is 22,440 rubles.

This means that when applying for benefits this year, the minimum income of each adult in the family must be at least 89,760 rubles for a 12-month billing period.

The new rule also applies to self-employed citizens.

If several months in the billing period fall under the zero income rule, the minimum income will be recalculated proportionally to the months of work. If there is a valid reason for the lack of income in 10 months of the billing period, then the limit does not apply.

The minimum income rule does not apply to residents of new regions, the Social Fund explained.

The single benefit is a monthly payment for pregnant women and families with children under 17. To assign it, recipients must meet the assessment of need.

The previous rules for assigning child benefits were changed in June 2024.
