Tatarstan team came to Bashkiria for "Horse Racing on Toratau" tournament

A team from Tatarstan came to Bashkiria for the "Horse Racing on Toratau" tournament, and horsemen from the fraternal republic participated in the "Ylak" competition.

The open tournament "Horse Racing on Toratau" was held for the first time in the Ishimbaysky district of the republic. As the director of the "Toratau" Geopark, Artur Idelbaev, noted, the competitions were previously held for residents of nearby villages.

"We are holding today's event at the initiative and request of residents. Back in December, activists from neighboring villages approached us with a proposal to hold horse racing at the foot of Mount Toratau," said the director of the "Toratau" Geopark Artur Idelbaev at the tournament's opening.

The geography of the races covered not only remote areas of the republic but also neighboring Tatarstan.

More than 100 athletes participated in the tournament. They paraded in front of more than 5,000 spectators that day.

The tournament program included horse racing and a race of horse-drawn sleigh carriages, the equestrian competition "Ylak," a competition in horseback archery, and a demonstration performance in the national equestrian sport "Audarysh."

As the Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, noted earlier, "Race on Toratau" will become traditional.

"I am sure that "Race on Toratau" will become another good tradition of ours and will gather more and more people. Event tourism in the republic is actively developing. This is right and good," Radiy Khabirov emphasized.
