Azerbaijan Airlines suspends flights from Baku to Ufa, Sochi, Volgograd, Samara, Grozny, Mineralnye Vody and Makhachkala from December 28. According to the carrier's statement, this decision was made by the State Air Aviation Agency of Azerbaijan until the completion of the preliminary investigation into the crash of the Embraer 190 aircraft, taking into account the risks to flight safety.
Recall that the Azerbaijani Embraer, flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on December 25.
AZAL will continue to operate flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Astrakhan, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg.
Kazakhstan's Qazaq Air (it will not fly from Astana to Yekaterinburg for a month but will continue to fly to Omsk and Novosibirsk) and Israel's El AL (it canceled flights to Moscow for a week) also suspended flights to Russia.
