Information technology has been the most popular field among university applicants for several years. Currently, 376 thousand students study digital fields, which has grown by 42% over the past three years.
This is facilitated by supporting students' interests at the school level, said the head of the Russian Ministry of Education, Sergey Kravtsov, at a government meeting.
According to him, 50 IT-cube digital education centers for children will be opened in 2024. There are already 309 of them, and 19 more will open by the end of the year.
More than 19 thousand schools have natural science and technology centers called "Growth Points." 384 "Quantoriums" have been opened, and another 80 will be commissioned by the end of the year. In particular, three children's technology parks have been opened in Bashkiria this year.
Computer science rooms in schools are equipped with modern computers and multimedia equipment. By September 2021, all Republican schools will have the Internet.
Russia is hosting two championships of professional excellence, including competencies in IT and engineering technologies: the High Technology Championship and the Professionals Championship. The latter became international, with representatives from 26 friendly countries participating.
