Head of Bashkiria has created State Committee for Scientific and Technological Development

The State Committee for Scientific and Technological Development will start working in Bashkiria on February 1. The Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, announced this in his Address to the State Assembly—Kurultai of the region.

As the head of the region explained, the state committee is being created to solve important tasks in higher education, science, and innovation.

“I have created a State Committee for Scientific and Technological Development. I ask you to make changes to the structure of the government. The state committee should start working on February 1 of next year,” said Radiy Khabirov.

Among 20 pilot regions, Bashkiria has developed its comprehensive scientific and technological development program until 2030.

As Radiy Khabirov noted, Vladimir Putin, the head of state, has set large-scale tasks for accelerating the transfer of technologies to production, training personnel for high-tech sectors of the economy, and strengthening cooperation between science and business. In Bashkiria, science is a significant growth point for the multi-sector economy.

Thanks to the activities of the Eurasian REC participants, more than eight thousand new high-tech jobs have been created in five years. More than 400 production technologies and high-tech products have been developed and implemented. The region has six mega-laboratories, 18 youth laboratories, an advanced engineering school, etc.

"I gave the order to launch a project on scientific and industrial cooperation of our universities and high-tech enterprises. I ask the Ministry of Industry and Trade to speed up the development of the relevant procedure and, together with the Ministry of Finance, to work out sources of financing," said Radiy Khabirov.
