Bashkirs Kurultai of Tatarstan has elected its chairman for new term

The Kurultai of the Bashkirs of Tatarstan has elected its chairman for a new term. The decision of the public organization's general Meeting unanimously re-elected Gali Khasanov as the chairman of the Regional Autonomy of the Bashkirs of the Republic of Tatarstan, the press service of the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Tatarstan reports.

Gali Khasanov has been a cardiologist and therapist in Nizhnekamsk for 32 years. He is a combat veteran and actively involved in public activities. He is a member of the Council under the Raisa of the Republic of Tatarstan for interethnic and interfaith relations and the Assembly of the Peoples of Tatarstan.

The General Meeting of the National and Cultural Autonomy of the Bashkirs—the Kurultai (Congress) of the Bashkirs of the Republic of Tatarstan—was held in Nizhnekamsk. Delegates from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Almetyevsk, Bugulma, Aktanysh, Yelabuga, Nizhnekamsk, Tukaevsky, and Nizhnekamsk districts gathered to discuss current issues.

The event was attended by the head of the executive committee of the Council of the Assembly of Peoples of Tatarstan, deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Renat Valiullin.
