Bashkiria's Head, Radiy Khabirov, announced the launch of a technical sulfur production unit at Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat. The head of the region emphasized that this is one of the region's flagship projects, included in the list of priority projects in 2022. The total investment in the large-scale facility amounted to 13.8 billion rubles.
"The new production involves deeper processing and the release of new products. This is a completely Russian development, more than 90% of the equipment is domestically produced. Launching the unit must be one of the stages of major work within the framework of the quadripartite agreement on reducing harmful emissions into the atmosphere. Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat signed it with the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, Rosprirodnadzor and the Government of Bashkortostan," Khabirov posted on his social networks.
Thanks to the new production, air pollution will be reduced by more than 4.6 thousand tons annually. Thus, gross emissions into the atmosphere will decrease by 11% and sulfur dioxide emissions by 30%. In addition, the product of processing hydrogen sulfide-containing gas will be technical sulfur, which is in demand on the market. The launch of the project allowed 54 new jobs to be created.
"There are new plans ahead. Several more projects are in progress. The enterprise plans to launch the production of a very popular product - superabsorbents. There are important environmental initiatives. Thank you for the joint work. We are moving forward," the Head of the region added.
Earlier, promising projects in the industrial sector were named in Bashkiria.
