Bashkiria is leader in Big Ethnographic Dictation

Bashkortostan became the leading region of the international educational campaign "Big Ethnographic Dictation." This year, 469,114 residents of Bashkiria tested their knowledge of the history and culture of the Russian people. Moscow and Krasnoyarsk Krai took second and third place, respectively.

In 2024, the House of Friendship of Peoples and the Ministry of Education and Science acted as coordinators of the dictation in the republic. The dictation was written online from November 1 to 8 on the campaign's official website, and a site was also organized in the State Concert Hall "Bashkortostan" on November 2. 57 people representing national cultural centers and cultural and educational institutions attended the event.

This year, the international campaign was held for the ninth time under the slogan "There are many peoples—one country!" The goal of the campaign is to attract people's attention to the history, culture, and traditions of the people inhabiting the country. According to the organizers, this knowledge helps to strengthen harmony, interethnic peace, and national unity of the peoples of the Russian Federation.

In 2024, anyone could participate in developing questions for the first time. For this purpose, a tab titled "Suggest a question" appeared on the campaign's official website. The most exciting and original questions were included in the federal part of the dictation, and the authors received memorable prizes with the campaign symbols.

In 2021 and 2022, Bashkortostan took 1st place: in 2021, with 341,027 participants, in 2022 - with 498,018 people, doubling the result. In 2023, Bashkortostan took second place after Moscow, with 331,456 participants.
