34 countries have applied for participation in the Forum in Ufa

To date, 34 countries have applied for participation in the VI Yalta International Economic Forum, which will be held on December 5 in Ufa as part of the International Business Week. Earlier, the head of Crimea, Sergey Aksenov, signed a corresponding order.

The venue for the event will be the Wrestling Palace, the largest sports facility in Europe, built for the 450th anniversary of Ufa.

The Yalta International Economic Forum is one of Russia's four largest economic forums. The first forum, held nine years ago, was attended by more than 600 people from 13 countries: Russia, Italy, Slovenia, Turkey, Hong Kong, Japan, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Greece, Kazakhstan, Israel, India and Serbia.

In subsequent years, the event developed dynamically, responding to the challenges of the time. At the YIEF held in 2019, the number of participants exceeded 4.5 thousand people from about 100 countries. As a result of the forum, more than 102 agreements worth 215 billion rubles were concluded, creating 1,700 jobs.

YIEF-2024, at a minimum, will repeat the results of the previous forum in 2019, the organizers believe.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the forum was not held in 2020 and 2021, and then it was decided to postpone the event due to logistical problems. This year, the forum will be hosted by Ufa.

To date, participants from 34 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America have already announced their presence at the YIEF in person. These include members of parliament, representatives of executive authorities and political parties, public figures, scientists, and journalists. The list may be expanded as preparations for the forum progress. Moreover, it is planned to ensure the participation of more than 90 countries in an online format, including representatives from Latin America and the Caribbean.
