Ufa Preserves Memory of Mustai Karim

Mustai Karim, a classic of national literature, was born in Bashkiria on October 20, 1919. Today marks the 105th anniversary of his birth. The people's poet of Bashkortostan's name is widely immortalized in Ufa, as celebrated in the Leninsky District of the city.

Since 2006, Socialisticheskaya Street has been named after Mustai Karim, and it was there that the poet lived. In 2013, a monument to the poet was unveiled on Mustai Karim Street in the square in front of the Palace of Trade Unions. The park around the memorial was also named after the writer. On Monday, October 21, a ceremonial event will be held in this park.

The National Youth Theater and the Bashkir Gymnasium also bear the poet's name. In 2019, the Ufa airport was named after Mustai Karim. In the same year of the 100th anniversary, the name "Mustai Karim" was given to a new cruise ship - a river liner that sails along the Belaya River and a Sukhoi Superjet aircraft.
