The Russian Ministry of Labor's press service reported that the department has proposed further reducing the prohibited professions for women.
It is proposed that self-propelled vehicle operation in open-pit mining, work on the surface of mines and pits, enrichment, agglomeration, and briquette production (mining production) be removed from the list of prohibited professions.
The draft order was developed at the suggestion of the organization "Business Russia," taking into account the proposals of public figures, associations of workers and employers, and the recommendations of specialists, the Ministry of Labor explained.
In January 2021, the list of industries to which women are not allowed was radically reduced from 456 to 100 professions. Women then had the opportunity to work as drivers of heavy trucks and agricultural machinery, commuter trains, high-speed trains and metro trains, auto mechanics, boatswains, and skippers and to perform work at a height of more than 10 meters.
