The Russian Ministry of Digital Development has confirmed that Google has limited the creation of new accounts for Russians, RIA Novosti reported.
"Communication operators have also recorded a significant reduction in the number of SMS messages sent by the company to Russian users. SMS confirmation as a second authorization factor for previously created Google accounts is still working, but there is no certainty that this option will remain," the department reported.
Experts recommended that users of Google services create backup copies of their data, switch to using alternative two-factor authentication methods in systems, or use domestic platforms.
