State Duma deputies adopted amendments to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation in the second and third readings. The document specifies when a day off can be used and provides the possibility of paying for unused days off upon dismissal. The bill was prepared in pursuance of the Constitutional Court's decision, the press service of the State Duma reports.
The employee can take an additional day off during the year from the day of work on a weekend or holiday or add the day off to the vacation for the same period.
If the bill is adopted, if the day off has not been used during the year, it will no longer be possible to take it as a day off, but it will not be lost. The employer will be obliged to compensate the employee for all unused days off upon dismissal. The amendments should come into force on March 1, 2025.
