Blood donors will be equated to volunteers, and the head of administration of the Head of Bashkortostan, Maxim Zabelin, reports on his social networks. A timely document to popularize the donor movement is being adopted at the State Duma of Russia level. It will allow donors to take advantage of volunteers' support measures.

We are discussing reimbursement of expenses, incentives, and financial, organizational, informational, methodological, and other volunteer support. Another significant point concerns that students—like working donors, can get a day off to donate blood.

"Bashkortostan has a powerful donor movement. Today, we have more than 32 thousand blood donors and its components. This is a great merit of both our Blood Service and caring residents. The Republican Blood Transfusion Station annually prepares over 40 thousand liters of whole donor blood. Each dose undergoes the strictest control.

Another relevant area is the search for and recruitment of volunteers to the bone marrow donor registry. We achieved the organization of the "Bashkir Bone Marrow Donor Registry" in March 2019. At that time, just over one thousand people were in the registry. Today, there are already 13 thousand! This is a truly serious breakthrough. All of them are included in a single federal registry. Over the entire period of the republic's participation in replenishing the registry, genotype matches were identified in 55 of our donors. 25 bone marrow donations were performed, and the number of matches increases yearly. Let me remind you that this year, our doctors performed the first bone marrow transplant," writes Maxim Zabelin.

He expressed special gratitude to regular donors. In Bashkiria, 12,000 people have the title of "Honorary Donor of Russia."
