74 settlements will be connected to Internet in Bashkiria

In Bashkiria, over 3 thousand socially significant facilities have been connected to the Internet in 5 years. This work was carried out as part of the implementation of the national project "Digital Economy," said the Minister of Digital Development of the Republic of Bashkiria, Gennady Razumikin, at the final meeting of the republic's government.

Prime Minister Andrei Nazarov noted that eliminating digital inequality is a separate and significant aspect of the government's work. Internet access is available in more than 2.5 thousand settlements in the region.

According to the government's press service, a federal project to eliminate digital inequality is being actively implemented in the republic; currently, 242 settlements have cellular communications. And within the framework of the republican project, 267 villages and towns received high-speed Internet access. By the end of 2024, it is planned to connect 50 settlements to the Internet within the framework of the federal project and 24 settlements within the framework of the republican project. In Bashkiria, the updated project "Accessible Internet 2.0" is being implemented, within which 6 thousand households will receive access to the network in 2024. In addition, the number of services citizens receive electronically has increased more than 5 times in the republic. In 2021, their number was about 80 thousand, then in 2023, it exceeded 400 thousand.
