Flu vaccines delivered to Bashkiria have been upgraded to expected strain
A vaccination campaign against the flu has begun in Bashkiria. Since the beginning of the year, the republic has received 1.18 million doses of the Sovigripp vaccine, produced by the Mikrogen company (which includes the Ufa-based Immunopreparat), and Ultrix Quadri from the Ryazan biopharmaceutical company Fort, intended for children.
The head of Rospotrebnadzor for the Republic of Bashkiria, Anna Kazak, noted that the vaccines are prepared specifically for the flu strain expected in the current season.
“Viruses have their life cycle. The infection comes from the other hemisphere, and we always know which strain to expect. This scheme has been working for many years. Therefore, the vaccine is effective and protects,” Anna Kazak explained.
Of course, you can get sick even after being vaccinated. However, statistics have proven fewer severe cases and fatalities among those vaccinated.
