Ophthalmological care is becoming more accessible for Bashkortostan residents. The Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, discussed this on his social networks.
"Starting in 2020, we have been working on creating a network of ophthalmological centers in the cities and districts of the republic. The goal is to make ophthalmological care accessible to all residents of Bashkortostan. As a rule, it is needed by older adults who develop glaucoma or cataracts, require lens replacement, etc. Of course, it is more convenient for them to be treated at home. Previously, such care could only be obtained in Ufa. Now - in Sterlitamak, Ishimbay, Salavat, Sibay, Maloyaz, other cities and districts, and recently - in Neftekamsk. Yesterday, the first operation was successfully performed here. “It was carried out by specialists from the Ufa Research Institute of Eye Diseases,” Radiy Khabirov wrote on his Telegram channel.
The head of the region also noted that not only is a network of ophthalmological centers being created in the republic, but the premises are also being renovated, good, modern equipment is being installed, and personnel issues are being resolved. The operations are carried out by specialists from the best medical centers in Ufa — the All-Russian Center for Eye and Plastic Surgery and the Ufa Research Institute of Eye Diseases.
