State Duma Committee to Support Bill on Payments to Spouses for Long Marriage
The State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood will support the revised bill on supporting strong families with payments to spouses for 20 or more years of marriage, said committee chairperson Nina Ostanina.
Yaroslav Nilov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy, and Veterans' Affairs, said that the State Duma is finalizing the bill on payments to Russians for entering into marriage and for its duration.
The bill proposes giving the right to receive payments to Russians who live in the country permanently, provided their marriage has not ended. It is also reported that the Cabinet of Ministers did not support the bill, pointing out the lack of development of the proposed payment mechanism.
