Bashkiria residents change their names more often
In Bashkiria, 1,952 residents changed their names in the first six months of 2024. The State Committee of the Republic of Bashkiria for Justice Affairs reported this to Bashinform News Agency. During the same period in 2023, the registry offices of the republic registered 1,668 acts on name changes.
The department added that state name change registration is carried out exclusively at the applicant's request. Experts explained that changing a surname upon marriage, divorce, establishing paternity, or adoption is done differently from the procedure for changing a name.
