Federal law No. 217-FZ of 08.08.2024 came into force on August 19, providing administrative punishment for trash streams. Earlier, Bashinform News Agency reported on its signing by the country's president.
Let us recall that access to information containing facts of violence and insulting public morality is now restricted. We are talking about the so-called trash streams, where such information is distributed for hooligan or selfish reasons. Social network owners must regularly monitor, identify, and delete such content.
Broadcasts containing scenes of violence will be blocked pre-trial. Participants and organizers of trash streams can be fined up to 1 million rubles by confiscating equipment for broadcasting. For distributing violent videos, fines are provided for citizens from 50 to 100 thousand rubles, for officials - from 100 to 200 thousand, and for legal entities - from 800 thousand to 1 million rubles.
