In September, the State Duma will consider a draft law to protect single people from fraudsters when making real estate transactions. Deputies of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan developed and submitted the document to the federal parliament.
According to Konstantin Tolkachev, Chairman of the State Assembly of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the bill aims to protect citizens from fraudulent actions with apartments by drawing up gift agreements. It is proposed to introduce mandatory notarization of gift transactions concluded by people who are not closely related.
The current procedure for gifting, which can be drawn up only by signing the necessary papers at the MFC, allows fraudsters to mislead single elderly people who have health problems, as well as citizens suffering from drug and alcohol addiction, etc.
Earlier, the draft received a positive opinion from the Council of Legislators of Russia. The document was also supported by the State Duma Committee on State Building and Legislation, which recommended adopting this bill.
